DIY Hot Pix! Cinnamon Toothpicks

Flashback...

Vintage Kettering Elementary, my first introduction to cinnamon toothpicks.  If anyone was caught with these in their mouth it was a guaranteed visit to the principal's office.  Of course, we rode our bikes to the pharmacy, bought our own cinnamon oil and even sold them at school.  Such a dangerous attraction :)

Old Fashion Coconut Chest Rub

I like the notion of an old fashioned chest rub.

There's something soothing about a cool, pungent salve rubbed on a congested chest, vapors curling upwards to open blocked airways promising a good night sleep.  A sweet, effective tradition that should continue to stand as a standard remedy, don't you think?

This simple remedy has only 4 ingredients, that fills one 4 oz jar and 5 empty lip balm pots (for sharing):

1/2  C. Organic Coconut Oil
1/4  teaspoon Olive Oil
1 teaspoon beeswax pastilles

Combine together in a small pan, heat at low temp until beeswax has melted.

Add 30 drops of doTERRA's *Breathe essential oil blend.

*Laurel Leaf, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Melaleuca, Lemon and Ravensara.  Many of these oils have been studied for the abilities to open and soothe the tissues of the respiratory system and also for their abilities to combat airborne bacteria and viruses that could be harmful to the system.

The Cold & Flu Bomb Giftpack ~ Share & Heal!

Yet another use for one of my favorite all purpose containers, the Altoid tin.

Out here in the West, the first round of cold and flu season has hit hard.  I've been asked about 342 times how to stop the bugs in their tracks and I've written about how to stop these viruses in their tracks.  However, I've yet to provide you with a simple way to share a few oils to help the coughing, sneezing, congested friend or family member feel better and, find out first hand about the power of essential oils.  It's in times of need that doTERRA's essential oils really shine.

Drip a few samples and share some wellness!

Make Your Own Breast Cancer Awareness Deodorant

For some time now, I've been nervous about commercial deodorants and antiperspirants.

I know that most contain aluminum, an ingredient that we know wreaks havoc in our bodies.  Parabens, a preservative used in food, drugs and cosmetic products have been found in breast tissue of mastectomy patients and scientists are now beginning to link regular use of deodorant to breast cancer.
