DIY Manuka Honey #Local Honey #Essential Oils!

While I love Manuka Honey, it's not always easy to find and it's definitely not inexpensive.

I've had a small inner battle going on the last few weeks, a nagging feeling about singing the praises of Manuka.  Only because I'd never want to discourage business with local bee keepers of whom I aspire to be one day!  So, I came up with a solution that I'm at peace with, see what you think!

Rescue Remedies for Summer Dry Heels

Summer is time for bare feet and sandals!

It happens every summer, all that sandal wearing takes it's toll on my heels.  By late June, after my feet have been free from wearing socks with shoes for about 6 weeks I might feel the first little fissure...you know that pain?  Ugh, it's irritating!

Dry, cracked heels are not a pretty sight but, with a little effort our feet can be pretty enough to stick out the window too :)

Natural Antibiotic Remedies & Why They Work

“The ability of oils from various spices to kill infectious organisms has been recognized since antiquity. Natural oils may turn out to be valuable adjuvants or even replacements for many anti-germicidals under a variety of conditions.”  Harry G. Preuss, MD, MACN, CNS, professor of physiology and biophysics at Georgetown University.

You can find nature in one of its most powerful forms, the essence and life-force of plants found in what we commonly refer to as, essential oils.  Essential oils are derived from flowers, trees, grasses, leaves, roots and fruits.  Their powerful essence is indispensable to medicine.  Western medicine seeks to create chemical copies of essential oils because of their extremely effective and complex medical system.

CW Anti-Aging Facial with Manuka Honey, Coconut Oil & Frankincense

I have a goal to be kinder to my skin because the cruel reality of aging skin dawns often here in Wyoming.  I love the wide open spaces here where the air is clean (scoured clean by wind) but oh is it dry!  Once again, EOs come to my rescue, with their restorative properties...along with another find so keep reading :)

My dry skin was begging for  something hydrating, deep penetrating and nourishing!  My daughter had raved about a DIY facial of honey and coconut oil...I took this idea a little further for my "mature" skin.

Break out the big guns: Manuka honey, coconut oil and Frankincense!

Allergies, Inflammation & the Power of Lavender, Lemon & Peppermint Essential Oils

Allergies and inflammation often go hand in hand.  Your body is fighting something be it an infection, a toxin, an allergen, a food or the stress response.  Somehow, it redirects its hostile attack on your joints, your brain, your thyroid, your gut, your skin or sometimes your entire body.

In nature's medicine cabinet there exists a powerful selection of pure essential oils that when combined create a natural antihistamine.  The simple pure plant essence of Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint together have the ability to step in and cool down body inflammation resulting from the body's allergic response.  This is important information!

Here we go!  Summer is here and feet everywhere are about to log many miles in sandals and flip flops!  Did you ever stop to think about what your heels look like after the end of a long day running around half barefoot?  Yeah, me too!

Geranium & Lavender Organic Baby Powder

I think I've been asked 100 times if I had any baby powder in the house and 100 times the answer has been "nope sorry"!  I stopped buying baby powder a long time ago.  Why? ... it's the talc, a known carcinogen.

Ok, I've known for some time there were options to make my own without that dastardly ingredient but one can only make so much DIY stuff, oi!  However, apparently people still want and use baby powder so, I give us...

talc ~ free baby powder
now we can say yes & feel good about it

All in One Cleaner & Softener with Epsom Salt

Epsom Salt & ADD

Once upon a time as I was gathering supplies to make a fresh batch of fabric softener, I noticed a toilet that needed cleaning.  As I stared at the toilet while holding a carton of epsom salt, a box of baking soda and my EOs, I decided to make a toilet cleaner while I was at it.  I could clean a toilet AND soften my wash saving time, money and easing the burden of Mother Nature just a little.  A proud ADD moment indeed!  Here's what I did...

DIY Be Slimmer & Sassier Essential Oil Blends

My Favorite EO Blends for Weight Loss
{and a good night's sleep}

Several weeks ago I came across a comment by an EO user who talked about the success she was having losing weight using an Bergamot essential oil.  I filed this away in my pea brain and continued reading.  Not 2 days later, I stumbled on a similar comment basically sharing the same success but with a variation of EOs.  I knew I had to try it and share the info with you :)

This is a simple, clean, good for you weight loss blend that doesn't taste that great but it works.

New & Improved Rosacea Blend for Even Skin Tone

ROSACEA Blend Spritzer!
___________________________________________

Not long ago, I shared the Rosacea Blend, a favorite EO blend that I rely on everyday.  However, soon after that blog post I've become somewhat of a Witch Hazel devotee and as per my life, I updated! I'm convinced that if I'd known about this natural elixir earlier I'd have fewer life lines now.  If I could place blame of my ignorance on my Mom I would but she's perfect so I can't!

A bottle of quality Witch Hazel should be every EO users BFF IMHO, right there beside FCO.  There will be a quiz on the acronyms later ;)

Guy Gear! An EO Toolbox for Your Special Guy!

For Father's Day, I was determined to blend guy gear with EOs.

I must say, I'm feeling successful in my endeavor too, I got a pat on the behind back from my husband today while shooting photos.  I assume this type of behavior is equivalent to a high five?  It was some kind of fun meandering the aisles of our local Ace Hardware store looking for just the "thing".
