Just Like Mom's but Just for Kids!

That's right, just for kids!
{age 6 and older}

We all know kids learn by example.  Kids love to mimic Mom, especially when they see her doing something new and interesting like using EOs in the home.  Right?  This is a hands on teaching moment just for kids, it's about helping them learn to choose natural alternatives like essential oils.  With their very own box of kid friendly blends they can feel empowered just like we do!

I chose four HIGHLY DILUTED blends to introduce to kids, giving them the opportunity to be a "mini me" of Mom (or Dad) as the healer in the home.  Think about it, what a great way to teach your kids that someday they'll be responsible for their health and reaching for natural alternatives is always a wise choice.

Each 5ml roller bottle has 4 drops of PURE essential oils.  The remainder of the bottle is filled with fractionated coconut oil.

The blends are not toys, even highly diluted.

It will be important to teach your kids to respect that each of their bottles are tools for wellness, their wellness!  Have fun with it and take advantage of all the teaching moments that are exploding all around you!  Occasional chaos, you know the drill ;)

I've chosen 4 blends to address our kids daily needs, you can change them to suit your own kids and your household this post just serves as an example to go by...

OUCH!  ...an antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal blend
______________________________________

In a 5ml roller bottle...

2 drops Lavender
2 drops Melaleuca

...top bottle off with fractionated coconut oil

This bottle might save you a whole bunch of bandaids.  Our grand kids love to race for the bandaid box at the slightest scratch, now they can pretend they're all grown up by dabbing their scraped knee with a fragrant army of little healing soldiers instead!

HEALTHY!  ...a protective immunity blend
________________________________________

In a 5ml roller bottle...

4 drops Shield Protective Blend

...top bottle off with fractionated coconut oil

Explain that this bottle can keep you well and guard against cold and flu bugs!  Of course, you might need to subsidize your child's kid strength application with your full strength one but they'll catch on and most likely race to apply theirs first.

HAPPY! ...a mood improving blend

In a 5ml roller bottle...

4 drops Jeddy's Blend

...top bottle off with fractionated coconut oil

Oh, the far reaching benefits of Jeddy's Blend!  Not only is it good for your kids in school to help them focus and stay on task it's wonderful at helping cranky toddlers feel happier - like a couple of 2 yr olds I know and love :)

SWEET DREAMS! ...a sleepy head blend
__________________________________________

In a 5ml roller bottle

2 drops Lavender
2 drops Zen Grounding Blend

...top bottle off with fractionated coconut oil

I love the fragrance of this pair, a nice calming blend to help relax at bedtime.  This combination is nice to dab under your nose too.

I need to reiterate that these blends aren't for play.  Even though the EOs are highly diluted, they're still special and lightly effective, kids can be taught to know and respect this :)

The End!

Hi there,

I wonder if you could suggest an EO or blend of to use for a 4 year old who suffers from tummy pains. This has been on going and despite G.P visits we have had no satisfactory answers. They say she will just have to grow out of it! She loves smells and we use lavender oil in the night time bath. Any suggestions would be gratefully welcomed.

Thanks in advance
Jen

Any suggestions on how to really make your home have a good scent - it seems that diffusing lavender, etc - only lasts for a short period of time - and seems that our "second home" up north we cannot get a good smell no matter what we do...

Love SPARK Naturals too!

Jen, could it be diet related? My grand daughter went through the same ordeal and it all came down to gluten and dairy. In the meantime, you could help with the symptoms by rubbing 2 drops of Ginger or Peppermint on her tummy, see if that gives her some relief.

Sometimes I have that issue in our basement, just smells like a basement. I've used the tart warmer that SN sells with the unscented soy block and added EOs to that. It helps but you have to add quite of oil to really get a good scent.

Another idea that just came to me is Dawn Gray's Refresh blend! It's really effective for kicking strong odors - she just recently share the blend recipe here:

Genius!! I need to do this, but with stronger strength blends. My son, who is 9, loves that I put the shield/thieves oil on his feet at night and in the morning. He was all excited this evening when he told my mom about how it "keeps you from getting sick". :)

If I mixed up his own roller bottle of it (or just a second one) it would make our nighttime and morning routines so much easier, as he could apply it himself without having me to give it to him. DUH! Why didn't I think of that?

How would you make these stronger for a 3 year old ? Not for them to apply themselves. But so I can have these great blends ready to go when needed.

Thanks Rebecca, we have cut out dairy and are waiting to see if that has any effect before trying gluten. She loves the smell peppermint oil so I have tried that for the past couple of nights and when she complains of tummy ache and it does help with the symptoms.

I should say as well we all love your healing salve and my girls (4 &5) have labelled it "magic cream". Thanks for your suggestion.

LuAnna, if you're going to be in control of application - make a 50/50 blend of the oil and fractionated coconut oil... for a 3 yr. old :)

Hello, anything I can use on my 2 year old to prevent cold & flu, and during as well?

I recommend a roller bottle with a 50/50 blend of Shield and fractionated coconut oil. Just roll this on the bottom of your 2 yr olds feet every morning as a preventative.

YL has a children's line now and they have one specifically called 'TummyGize'
Not plugging them here, just has been helpful for my daughter who gets stomach aches easily . Especially with stress.
