The Ultimate Serum for Timeless Skin

Why use a Serum?

Serums are ultra-intensive, lightweight formulas that protect skin with a deep concentration of hydration and nutrients.  Molecules in an essential oil infused serum are smaller and much more concentrated than a regular moisturizer.  A serum can better target issues like age spots, sun damage and fine lines, in the layers beneath your skin's surface.

If you're looking for "bang for your buck" DIY beauty treatments today, I'm afraid this isn't that. I consider this the "ultimate serum" for it's transforming effectiveness, a direct result of rare essential oils that your skin will respond to beautifully.

Pure Essential Oils

anti-inflammatory - regenerative - tones & tightens - astringent - anti-cancer - anti-tumor

anti-spasmodic (facial muscle/nerves) - anti-inflammatory - healer - halts bleeding - emollient - hydrating - promotes cell growth

can prevent muscles from sagging - anti-bacterial - tightening - boosts immunity - diuretic - influences endocrine glands to regulate - fights acne and dermatitis

speeds healing - emollient - anti-inflammatory - reduce hypertension - spiritual - toning

Now you have an better inkling of how rare and powerful this serum is.  Cheap?  No.  An investment in beautiful skin?  Yes.

Jackie Kennedy

Fun fact!  The classic beauty Jackie Kennedy attributed her beautiful complexion to almond oil, in her honor I chose almond oil to as the base to my serum and consider it a valuable addition for it's own amazing properties!

Almond oil has a high content of vitamin e, diminishes fine lines, relieves itching, provides protection from the sun, lengthens lashes and promotes elasticity of the skin.

This is an oil you'll want to consider more often for some of your other EO recipes, it's emollient and lovely!

the serum
________________

3 drops Frankincense
2 drops Rose
2 drops Helichrysum
2 drops Lavender
2 drops Geranium
2 drops Sandalwood
2 teaspoons Almond Oil

In a 5ml glass bottle add the essential oils and top with almond oil.   You can leave the serum in this bottle or, divide into smaller 1 dram dropper bottles as shown above.  A full recipe will fill {2} 1 dram dropper bottles.

"serum first ~ moisturizer second"

Keep in mind that a serum is meant to use sparingly on a clean face.  After cleansing, add a small drop of serum to your fingertip and dab on fine lines, sun spots, age spots and uneven skin tone, then...moisturize.  I also add a drop to the back of my hands, a reflection of how your skin is aging.

Once again, I realize the investment involved to create this serum.  If you have all the EOs needed great!  If not, start slow...create your own serum with the EOs that you DO have and add the rest as you increase your collection.

Do you think Jojoba oil would work in a pinch, or should I strictly stick to the almond oil?

Can we use rosehip seed oil instead?

Wouldn't almond oil alone make a good moisturizer? I have been using coconut oil but it is a bit drying in this drier air of winter.

I meant for my face. Sorry, I didn't specify that. But it would probably good all over, too.

Can we leave the Rose out? I don't have any, well, I take that back, I do have some, but it's from Aura Cacia, and I don't think it's pure, it has other oils in it like jojoba oil.

Let me know your thoughts.

How would this work with the oil cleansing method? Usually I OCM with coconut oil (that has lavender and tea tree oil in it), then use a home made apple cider, honey, and peppermint oil toner. Since the oil is the moisturizer and cleanser, when should I use the serum??? After the toner maybe?

Jojoba is a good choice too :)

As I mentioned on the post, start with what you have - so yes, the serum will still be beneficial but not the "ultimate" :)

Just wondering, I have been using avocado oil with melaleuca and lavender for a month and need something stronger. My skin (with eczema and rosacea) is dry in some places. Also the redness of the rosacea has not diminished a bit.
