Drunken Lavender Linen & Home Spray
Lavender Linen Spray, one of life's simpler luxuries.
With water, Lavender essential oil and a splash of vodka you can infuse your linens with the fresh, clean smell of lavender and freshen the air in your home with the same! It's affordable, versatile and will actually change the molecular structure of the air in you're breathing. A diffuser in a spray bottle!
All you need for your rise to Homekeeping Goddess status are three ingredients and an 8 oz BPA free spray bottle. Note: BPA free plastic is acceptable for home sprays but, I prefer glass to plastic when making any kind of body spray if EOs are going to be used.
1 cup water
1 tablespoon inexpensive vodka
40 drops of lavender essential oil
8 oz spray bottle
It sounds like an English garden party cocktail doesn't it?

I understand that vodka may be a surprise however, it really does have practical applications! Vodka acts as an emulsifier, without it the oil and water separates. It also sweetens the blend, strange but true! You can certainly omit the alcohol, sober Lavender Linen & Home Spray is great too...just be sure to shake the contents often!
Just a sidenote: Vodka is GREAT in cleaning solutions! Since making my own household cleaners, I've run across many a recipe that calls for regular unflavored vodka.
Now go forth and dust off your iron! Huh, you say? I know, it's probably been a while since you ironed your sheets but trust me....treating yourself, your guests and your home to Lavender scented linens is the bomb!

I was given a Lavender Spritz from Bed Bath & Beyond and loved it. Would much rather make my own! Would have never thought of the vodka. ;-)
Does this work like febreeze? Can I spray it on my couch and pillows?
Can I use cheap vodka or does it have to be the good stuff? ;)
You can, just make sure you use a fine mist setting so your upholstery doesn't get too wet.
Ha! Never buy cheap, one never knows when one might need to drink the ingredients!
Most sources suggest using 100 proof vodka, though, as it emulsifies more effectively than the more common 80 proof.
Forget the sheets, just do the pillow cases!
Obviously I did something wrong since my question disappeared. Is there a way to communicate with you that isn't public then? I have looked all over for a place to contact or ask questions that isn't part of a post and no doubt I have missed it somehow...I have. I assume you have my email without me having to post it. I'm a little disappointed and surprised.
You can get in touch with me at: rebecca@campwander.com.
Hi Rebecca,
Where does one get a glass spray bottle? Thanks.

I have had great luck with Specialty Bottle, no minimum quantity, though I usually order enough to make shipping worthwhile. Their website is http://www.specialtybottle.com/index.aspx
