How to Kiss Seasonal Allergies Goodbye Naturally!

Got Hay Fever?  Ugh!

It's a miserable condition and an every day reality for many of us!  The symptoms are debilitating, frustrating and forget about wearing make-up!

Bring on the Triple Threat...

Three essential oils {100% pure} Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint will help you spell R E L I E F.  More good news!  These oils are safe for children too, application may vary.

If there's such a thing as the bright side of allergy season, this would be it...the stunning beauty of trees in bloom...

...unfortunately, followed by the annoying reality of pollen spewing trees, shrubs and flowers...

Ahhhh choo!

Enough is Enough!

To get fast relief naturally, you need Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint  - 100% pure essential oils.  Why?  Pure essential oils, like doTERRA have been tested for impurities.  If you're using oils for medicinal purposes you need the essence of a plant in it's purest form for the greatest efficacy!

Here are several protocols for allergy symptoms, pick the one that best suits you!

1.  Put 3 drops ea. of Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint in a gelatin capsule.  If you're not feeling relief in a 20 min. period, do it again.

2.  Rub the same combination of oils on your feet, then cup your hands under your nose and inhale the oils that remain on your hands.  Clean feet would be a bonus here :)

3.  If you're a bit bolder, put 2 drops of each oil in a 1/4 cup juice or water and swish around your mouth for 10 - 20 seconds then swallow.  (only with pure oils please!)

...and those baby blues...

A GREAT tip for itchy, watery eyes!  Dab Lavender with a little carrier oil like fractionated coconut oil on bones surrounding the eye.  Quick as a wink, your eyes will clear up!  Works fabulously (even my hubby admits it) and, it's good for your skin!

For the Kiddos:  1/2 the dose!

One drop of each oil added to a teaspoon of honey works beautifully for kids.  Heck, adults can take their oils this way too.  Afterall, a spoonful of honey helps the medicine go down!

(local honey is especially good to use!)
If symptoms persist, rub the oil combo on the bottoms of their feet morning & night, this goes for adult as well!

Remember, essential oils aren't time released like OTC drugs often are, they're fast acting.  You may want to keep a small bottle of each oil with you during the day for continued ease of allergy symptoms.  Combine the oils in one bottle for even more convenience!

Here's an idea for a small Travel Pack you can customize with your oils, easily fitting in your purse, backpack or briefcase.  Click {here} to see where you can purchase the small glass dram bottles.

Here's to a clear head and a tissue free allergy season my friends!

  1. My kiddos have been miserable with runny noses due to seasonal allergies. I hate giving them medicine, so this is a great alternative-now I just need some lemon and peppermint oils!

  4. Rebecca, I am new to this whole EO craze but am fully onboard. I know you push doTerra and I plan to purchase those in the future but for now I have NOW Essential Oils that say 100% pure on the bottle and from reading their website I see nothing that conflicts with that. However, doTerra clearly says for internal use while NOW does not make that claim. From what I have read as long as it is 100% pure EO it is the same. Also, doTerra is MUCH more expensive. I have lavendar, lemon and peppermint in the NOW brand. Before I ingest, and definitely before I allow my son to I wanted to just get some clarification from you on this. Thanks so much!

    1. I would only ever recommend ingesting doTERRA oils as we know them to be tested extensively and pure! If your product doesn't clearly state that they can be taken internally, please don't! That said, I understand that doTERRA is more expensive but the product is more effective because of potency. I choose to pay more, use less and get results!

  6. I use this nightly - I am allergic to something in my room (dust most likely) when I walk into a hotel room I instantly have trouble breathing. I pop an allergy bomb and its amazing - in the true sense of the word. Thank you so much for this tip! Saved me tons of money by not going to the allergist and much healthier than taking OTC meds. Thanks you for everything you do!

  8. My daughter has horrible hay fever allergies (and we live near 3 different farms). Her allergies can act up at anytime and become sever quickly. So, this leads me to my question. Is it okay to mix these three oils in a 5/8 dram for her to keep at school and use as needed?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

    1. Hi Andrea, my family uses doTERRA essential oils, as well. It is definitely okay to mix the 3 oils in a smaller one to keep on-hand at school. Hope your daughter finds great relief! Blessings =)

  9. Thanks! We've only been using the oils sine October of last year and I know mixing oils is a delicate business, so I just wanted to make sure before making this up for her. :)

  10. We have just started using oils since December and I am amazed at the results!! Everything I have tried works! I love the LLP blend but my question is when I diffuse. How many drops, how often, how long and how long before I "refresh" the diffuser with new drops? Blessings. =)

    1. When you diffuse LLP, I would add 3 drops of each to the water and diffuse until the water is gone. Then you refresh with new oil and water and repeat the process :))

  11. Hi Rebecca! My 10 yrs old son is having a severe seasonal allergy. The symptom has started about 3 weeks ago. I've been giving him LLP in a capsule in the morning and night. I want to send LLP EO in a role on bottle with him to school to put on his face whenever he needs but I am worried about the photosensitivity effect from Lemon as he loves to play soccer very recess in the field. Any suggestion for either replacing lemon with other non citrus EOs or quick and easy ideas to help him at school? His teacher notices that he gets so distracted by the allergy reaction in class. I love your blog so much! Thank you! Nawa

  15. I remember trying herbal oils after our pediatrician recommended using them to massage the baby to help ease rashes, as well as to promote some bonding between parent and child. It's good to see that I can turn to oils again as an alternative to anti-histamines to help with hay fever. Thanks for sharing, Rebecca!

  19. For the foot method, do you mix with a carrier oil? I was always advised never to use undulited on skin
