Gentle Digestive ~ Candida Cleanse

Why do I need to cleanse?

Toxins can accumulate in the body systems and lead to a variety of health problems.  A cleanse helps eliminate those toxins and assists in keeping systems balanced by eliminating harmful bacteria like candida or other yeasts.  A cleanse will not only make you healthier, it will increase your energy too.

Combine the following essential oils...

3 drops Melaleuca
3 drops Lemon
3 drops Thyme

Put in a size 00 gel capsule or, drink it down with a shot glass of water once a day for 10 days.  Afterwards, follow up with a good probiotic once a day.  Probiotics are vital in reducing the growth of harmful bacteria, aiding the immune system, digestion, and the absorption of nutrients.

This is a mild cleanse.  With this simple protocol you can safely address issues with yeast or, use the same protocol if you feel that your body has been fighting illness.  In our family, we've had great success getting rid of recurring hives and prickly heat by using this gentle candida cleanse which are often an underlying candida issue.  My pregnant friends will be happy to know that the PURE essential oils listed in the protocol are safe to use during pregnancy.

Where do you get the capsules?

I find your blog just fascinating - I'm a complete novice to essential oils. What got me going to being a daily reader was you mix with coconut oil for dry scalp. I'm having a bit of a problem finding the coconut oil but I'm for sure going to try this one of these days. Thanks for all you share.

I'm on day 6 of the oil part of this cleanse and I definitely notice a difference. On the third day I didn't fall asleep after dinner. I was motivated to do some chores. Normally, I'm a zombie after 7pm and I rarely get any chores done in the evenings. That is currently not the case! I've been awake and able to accomplish tasks. It's a real treat. I believe my body is reacting very positively to the cleanse. Thanks for the information!

Do you think I could use this on a 1 year old? Maybe in her milk?

I wouldn't recommend it, that's quite a young age for a cleanse.

what size capsule? what is the difference between a gelatin & veggie capsule?

Shannon, use a 00 size. The gel caps seem to hold up better to leakage than the veggie caps.

Do you recommend this if you're breastfeeding?

I have the same question, but I would think that since it's safe during pregnancy it is also safe when breastfeeding.

Does it matter if it is white or red thyme?

I am eager to try this but don't have any thyme on hand. Would any other EO work in its place?

When I went to my local health food store to purchase the eo's for this candida cleanse I was told u cannot ingest these oils. Are there different eo's for topical use vs ingestion?

At August 10, 2013 at 6:54 PM , Blogger Unknown said...

Since this is recommended for ingestion you should only use a high quality pure eo like the ones from spark naturals. Rebecca just posted on this topic tonight. Be sure to check it out :)

When I think of a cleanse, I think of going to the bathroom to "get rid" of it. Are there any side effects to this cleanse? I want to try it, but don't want to be running to the bathroom all the time. Lol.

Trader Joe's or Whole foods may be a good source.

This isn't THAT kind of a cleanse, this protocol will help reduce candida :)

Basil would be a good replacement!

Connie, most health food stores don't sell the PURE variety of EOs. Spark Naturals is a great source and fairly priced!

Becky, if you're dealing with excess yeast it's always a good idea to avoid anything that's going to feed the yeast, such as sugar :)

This is very gentle, my daughters have done this while nursing with no issues.

At least 10 days but, I'm of the belief that a daily probiotic never hurts!

At August 23, 2013 at 7:16 AM , Blogger Rebecca said...

Yes, it's perfectly fine in my opinion :)

Will the 5ml bottles be enough or would you recommend the 15ml ones?

At October 13, 2013 at 10:08 AM , Blogger Rebecca said...

5 ml should be just fine to start with Trish :)

Can I take probiotics WHILE I am doing this cleanse? My doctor has me on a treatment plan where we are trying to resolve a Candida overgrowth issue, and it includes the use of high doses of probiotics. I wouldn't want to stop taking them and mess with the program, but I would like to include this with my program. Do they interact with each other?

Yes, you can do both :)
